Joe Friday is with Repo Insurance Company and he just received a cancellation notice because the company is no longer insuring companies specializing in repossession work, he can’t work without insurance so he starts calling around and he meets up with Bernie Ponzi.

He explains that he only does repo work across the state and he needs coverage next Friday to stay in business.

Bernie says to Joe Friday, “No problem Joe, we insure repo operations all day long trust me I’ll get you covered no problem.”

Bernie Ponzi work some quotes up and calls Joe Friday a few minutes later giving him the good news and Joe can’t believe his good luck, the rate the Bernie Ponzi quoted him is half of what he was paying before.

Not wanting to press his luck Joe Friday says to Bernie: “Bernie are you sure that rate is right? I was paying more than double that before?”

“It is right as rain, we do this all day long I’ll get the paperwork over to you assuming you want to go through with the transaction?” Bernie assures Joe Friday.

“Oh yeah Bernie I want that rate, let’s sign up right now!” Joe Friday tells Bernie.

Bernie sends over the paperwork and Joe Friday signs were there is a big red X and he gives Joe his credit card number for the down payment. A few weeks later Joe Friday gets a policy in the mail about three weeks later.

What Joe Friday does not know is that his brand-new agent Bernie Ponzi left out one little detail when he issued a policy for Joe Friday, care to guess what he left out?

You guessed it — he forgot to tell the insurance company that Joe Friday only does repo work.

Tow Truck Insurance Dallas Tx – Policy Scenario Part Three.

In a previous article we learned about Miles Goldberg a long term employee working at Jim’s Towing & Repair Shop. Miles bought Jim’s Towing & Repair Shop from the owner, Jim Gareth, who seemed to pull a fast one on Miles leaving him on the hook for a large financial loss.

Let’s now revisit a conversation Miles was about to have with his wife of 23 years at their anniversary dinner.

“Emily I wanted to talk to you about my job at Jim’s Towing & Repair, it looks like Jim is going to be selling soon and he might sell it to that rascal Sammy Smithereens, you know that big guy who doesn’t like me really well and to be honest the feeling is pretty much mutual, if he buys the company I will be out of a job.”

“Oh, no Miles what are you going to do?”

Well Jim really wants to sell his business to me, in fact he is much said so a couple times, he showed me the books and it looks like the business is making pretty good money and I was hoping to talk to you about the possibility of maybe purchasing the company from Jim, I’ve already done some research we have enough savings plus if we take out a home equity line of credit on the house in conjunction with an SBA loan we will have enough money to buy the business.”

“Well I don’t know about that Miles, our house is paid off and the money we have saved up is for our retirement, do you think it’s really a wise idea to use all the money and to go into so much debt to buy this business to keep your job?”

“It’s not just a matter of keeping my job Emily, it will be an opportunity for us to have a better lifestyle, why I could probably make enough money so you can quit your nursing job, sure you make the lion share of our income right now but I’m the man of the house and buying Jim’s Towing & Repair could make that happen and besides Jim really wants to sell the business to me, and this is what he’s offered to sell it for.”

Miles slides over the financial information showing the sales price. Emily poses a question, “this includes the trucks, building and equipment of the shop?”

“Yep, it’s a good deal isn’t it?” “We should jump on it before that rat Sammy Smithereens gets the chance to buy!”

“Well I don’t know Miles that is a lot of money to put in one place, I’m not convinced we should do it, besides you are good at what you do you can get hired on anywhere if Sammy fires you.”

Miles and Emily discussed the matter over the course of the next few hours and finally Miles convinced his wife to go along with this ‘investment opportunity’ despite her staunch objections, the house they live in now is Miles’ home as a settlement from his last divorce.’

Miles doesn’t come out and outright say it but he implies to Emily that it’s really his decision on the house since it’s in his name only and is not part of their marital assets.

Miles calls Jim on his cell phone later and tells him he’s got a deal, and the rest as they save is history.
