Last we heard, Jimmy and Joey were lining up for the event we’ve been tirelessly waiting for.

Jimmy was trying to cope with the nerves getting to him as he had to wait, while Joey sat quite calmly while looking forward to the race to begin.

Both, however, were wondering how the race would size up. All of the other contestants, they had noted, seemed to take this quite seriously and they wondered how they might race.

With all of the contestants lined up, they were given the signal to go, and with all of that anticipation, they were off.

Now, obviously, semi-trucks don’t make for the most exciting take off, but once they get rolling, they are unstoppable traveling heaps of metal. The weight of the truck itself is quite substantial compared to that of a car or normal truck. This makes turning, slowing, and maneuvering exceptionally difficult.

While Jimmy had practiced a bit, driving his truck around abandoned areas, Joey hadn’t practiced much at all. He was having a difficult time adjusting to the remarkable difference in handling. It was certainly much more than he had anticipated.

Jimmy was having some issues, but not nearly as much. This allowed for Jimmy to take the lead over Joey. Clearly, though, neither of them were doing terribly well.

Joey’s work in tuning up his truck, however, did pay off in certain circumstances. Any straight away he had, he was able to floor the vehicle, zooming past several other trucks at once.

As Jimmy and Joey are relaxing before the race and shooting the breeze with the other contestants, they start to really worry about how well they’ll do.

They did not expect other people to have invested so much time, and what they assume must also be a lot of money, into a semi-truck race. But they figured different strokes for different folks.

This was something they initially thought to do as a gag race, just doing it for the sake of their hobby. They had no idea other people were so serious about racing semi-trucks, of all things.

Of course, Joey now was a little more invested, as this was his chance to show Jimmy up at racing.

They both began to think about how they would have to approach this race. They have no experience with vehicles this large, so they were entirely unsure of how the other contestants would act during the race. Would they would be super aggressive, pushing and crashing into each other, or would everyone be too afraid to do that?

Considering the relatively low speeds they were likely to hit, bumping each other probably wouldn’t cause something catastrophic and deadly, so they thought maybe people would be more inclined to do that to throw off their opponents.

There isn’t anything in the rules against this, after all. Most people just tend not to do it for the sake of the cosmetics of their vehicles and the potential for injuring someone or destroying the surrounding property.

In short, Jimmy and Joey were both really just clueless as to what to expect.
