Insurance Is More Complicated Than the Price We Pay for It! ™

That is probably far truer than what most people realize. Insurance policies are legal contracts or agreements between you and your insurance company. The insurance policy spells out what you must do for coverage to apply. In other words your insurance policy tells you what is covered and what is not covered by your insurance. (Policy exclusions)

The biggest issue with insurance is that very few people ever take time to read their insurance policies!

When a certain type of claim occurs and the policyholder receives a claim denial from the insurer, customers may automatically assume or conclude that the insurance company is trying to rip-off the policyholder.

Why Companies Deny Claims?

The reasons for the claim denial are more likely attributed to the policyholder’s lack of understanding about what is, but even more importantly what is not covered by insurance.

Because of the confusion about insurance my agency, Pathway Insurance Services Inc. and the Web Insurance Network, Inc. have developed a comedy miniseries about insurance.

It’s called Dirk and Canon Insurance Detectives. ™

Information in my miniseries is loosely based on a yet to be published book that I have been working on for the last few years.

My book discusses different types of claim scenarios in which certain accidents or claims may not be covered by insurance, and what policyholders can do to avoid claim denials by insurance companies.

Social Media Is The Best Method To Broadcast Your Message Today.

Because of the popularity of social media platforms like YouTube and Facebook my wife Emily and I came up with the idea of a video series on a Saturday afternoon in late March of 2012, showing how certain types of insurance claims would be denied by insurance carriers, but to hook viewers we knew that it would need to involve some element of comedy.

The most popular types of videos viewed on YouTube are the ones that make us laugh.

So I contacted a gentleman by the name of Brandon Berning that I had previously worked with on another video project. I shared my idea with Brandon, he thought it was a great idea and the following Monday we spoke on the telephone and later that week I officially contracted Brandon to come up with the characters, write the scripts, and Brandon even plays one of the main characters in the show.

Will it ultimately be successful? Only time will tell.

I can tell you that it was a colossal effort by a number of individuals to put this project together.

The first episode is only around 6 minutes long but I can tell you that there were literally hundreds of hours and a significant amount of money invested for those first 6 minutes of footage!

In my next post I’ll share with you the names of all those involved in the project and their exact duties.

Here’s the first episode, I hope you like it! Have a question about our series? Call Jack Thomas at 513-662-7000.
