What happens when you buy car insurance in Cincinnati from a Wet Willie?

Saturday, July 10th, 2010

Buying insurance from a Wet Willie, i.e. I’m a wet behind the ears insurance professional who just started selling insurance last week, agent extraordinaire could place you in danger. (Danger, Danger Will Robinson…)

Here’s the problem when you buy insurance from a Wet Willie:

Insurance is a very complicated financial contract, with tons of restrictions of coverage, and what amount to legal loopholes for insurance companies to get out of paying certain claims that we might think are covered.

Buying insurance from a Wet Willie, that is an inexperienced insurance agent in Cincinnati, could place you in danger, why?

Wet Willie can barely “spell” insurance, let alone properly advise someone what to buy and how much.

In fact, did you know that there are more than 200 different ways to get your insurance claim denied by your insurance company in Cincinnati?

Our agency, Pathway Insurance has developed a special coverage checklist that will help you discover potential gaps in coverage and shortfalls in your insurance plans in Cincinnati, plus a special 16 page report that discusses different claims scenarios in which insurance companies can legally deny claims in Cincinnati.

All new clients of our agency will receive this information.

After our policy review you will positively know whether you are insured with a Wet Willie, or Marvin Mayhem.  Marvin Mayhem is the incompetent insurance agent from Cincinnati that we talked about in our last article.

Make no mistake when discussing your insurance needs in Cincinnati.  It can be a big mistake to buy your car insurance from a Wet Willie.  Just like curiosity killed the cat, an inexperienced insurance agent in Cincinnati can kill you financially.

What happens when you buy car insurance from an incompetent insurance agent in Cincinnati?

Saturday, July 10th, 2010

A storm cloud may rain on your parade if you buy your insurance from an agent that I call Marvin Mayhem, the incompetent insurance agent in Cincinnati.

If you are unlucky and buy your insurance from Marvin Mayhem, you can be in just as much trouble as if you bought from Sam the Scam the Cincinnati insurance man.

Why do I say that?  Because Marvin Mayhem, who is an incompetent insurance agent, may obtain the wrong amount of coverage for you that can place you in great financial jeopardy!

I’ll give you an example.  A gentleman by the name of Tom called our office requesting quotes on home insurance.  We discovered that Tom was insured by Marvin Mayhem, and naturally his coverage and policy was incorrect.

Marvin Mayhem under insured Tom by more than $90,000 placing Tom and his entire family in great financial jeopardy. Fortunately Tom listened to our advice and dropped Marvin Mayhem just in the nick of time, because within three months Tom’s house burned right down to the ground!

If Tom had still been insured with the incompetent Marvin Mayhem, he would not have had sufficient funds to rebuild his house!

All new clients of our agency received a 21 point coverage checklist for car insurance that will help you to learn if you have any coverage gaps on your car insurance, plus a special report that will help you answer this question:

  • What are the minimum amounts of liability coverage that I should purchase to protect my assets in Cincinnati?

Sam the Scam will try to pull this trick on you when you ask for quotes on car insurance in Cincinnati!

Saturday, July 10th, 2010

If you are not careful, this insurance agent selling car insurance in Cincinnati  may not quote you the same coverage limits or deductibles in hopes that you won’t notice!  I call this insurance agent Sam, the Scam!

This is how we learned about Sam the Scam:  One of our clients called to cancel his policy because he told us he found a lower price on car insurance in Cincinnati by contacting Sam the Scam. (Not his real name of course, would you buy a policy from someone named Sam the Scam?)

I asked our client if his new agent had quoted the same coverage limits and deductibles that he had with us, he said he thought so.  I asked him if he had a copy of the declaration page and he did.

After reviewing his new coverage limits with Sam the Scam, we discovered that Sam was only able to sell his low priced car insurance in Cincinnati by reducing our client’s coverage limits by 8 times, to the state minimum levels!!

In addition Sam the Scam raised our clients deductibles to $1,000!

Yes our client saved money on his Cincinnati car insurance policy by using Sam the Scam, but at the same time he increased his deductibles and substantially lowered his coverage!  (Not really a good deal for our client was it?  Naturally Sam the Scam did this on purpose just to make a commission.)

Did he get a better deal on his car insurance by shopping around with an unscrupulous insurance agent in Cincinnati?  Nope, after matching what the other agent quoted, our car insurance rate was lower than the other agent’s rate by $200! (By the way, before you ever lower your liability limits you need to make sure the coverage is adequate for your needs.)

Fortunately our client quickly came to his senses and dropped Sam the Scam the Cincinnati insurance man like a hot potato after learning that he was bamboozled!

When you are shopping for the best prices on car insurance in Cincinnati, make sure the comparison is apple to apple.

Don’t get scammed by Sam the Scam, the Cincinnati insurance man whose only real interest is making you his next sale.

Could You Get Scammed When Shopping For Car Insurance In Cincinnati On The Internet?

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

A few days ago I caught television news interview on Channel 12 discussing the benefits of shopping for discounts on the Internet.  There’s no question that the Internet has changed how consumers buy products and services.  The Internet has also changed how consumers shop for insurance.  However there are a few things that you should be cautious about if you’re shopping for car insurance in Cincinnati using the Internet.

Scam artists use phishing scams to acquire information that they can use to steal your passwords, banking information, your identity, and ultimately your money.

Could the growing trend that consumers have to request auto insurance quotes through the Internet play right into their hands?

Thousands of consumers request car insurance quotes in Cincinnati by the Internet each month.  Will these scam artists catch a few unsuspecting consumers looking for the best car insurance rates in Cincinnati?  No doubt.

This Is How You Could Get Scammed Looking For Cheap Insurance Rates On The Internet:

Many insurance companies will require you to provide very sensitive information to issue an insurance policy such as your complete address, driver’s license numbers, plus the granddaddy of them all:  Your personal social security number.   Your Social Security number is the key to this scam artist’s ability to steal your identity and your credit!

With your desire to secure better insurance rates in Cincinnati you could inadvertently get ripped off when you hand over your personal data to a scammer!

If you are looking for cheap car insurance in Cincinnati let the buyer beware of the scam artists!

As one suggestion, do not request online insurance quotes from websites where you cannot call and talk to a live person.

Pathway Insurance Services Inc. has developed an online rate shopping service for individuals and families looking for the best rates on car insurance in Cincinnati.  You can click here and receive an instant rate quote from five of our top companies in five minutes or less!

Or if you feel more comfortable giving us a call, our local number is 513-662-7000.

Remember, never share your personal information such as your Social Security number, or banking account information with an online website offering to save you money on car insurance in Cincinnati, otherwise you may fall victim to the Internet scam artist.
